                                           The CROSS & SWORD
                                                 Superhuman File
                                                 Madame Magick
       Ava Cromwell, the result of the first attempt between Sybil Aradia Black and Satan to try and conceive a physical form for the Antichrist, they did not account for the fact that since Sybil was human, there was a 50/50 chance of the baby either being male for the Antichrist, or female for a witch. When Ava was born her father was furious, wishing her dead. Her mother, not wanting to see her child and creation be killed, and in order to appease her devilish consort, left her at an orphanage. This was in 2000. She had come with a letter from her mother explaining her origins, as well as a witch’s enchantment that would protect her from harm. She grew up not knowing of her half demon/half witch heritage. It was on her 16th birthday, that the director of the orphanage presented her with the card that she had come with. Upon reading of her heritage, she broke down in a horrible sadness. She had read about demons and witches in legends, fairy tales, and history, and knew they were bad news. Something remarkable begin to happen upon her discovering her heritage. She began to manifest magical traits and abilities, alongside demonic ones. She was able to control her powers shortly after they had manifested. Upon reaching 18, she left the orphanage, on a quest to find her mother. She found her, along with her aunts—Lilith and Circe. However, her illegitimate, upon sensing her presence with her mother, teleported to the witches’ dwelling, intending to kill his daughter. Putting their wicked nature and loyalty to the Unholy Trinity as well as Nergal and Mephistopheles, they put themselves between Ava and Satan, risking their lives in the process. Ava fled while her mother and aunts dealt with the Devil. She was happy to have met her mother, but upon receiving a message revealing her and Satan had reconciled, she became embittered towards her mother. She was angry at the fact that her mother still had feelings for the being who wanted Ava dead and tried to kill her. She still loved her mother but pushed her out of her life for the time being.  She changed her name from Ava Morgana Black to Ava Morgana Cromwell. She went on the run, unsure of what to make of her life, given her father was the embodiment of evil, and her mother was the Queen of witches, and she had traits from both of them as a result. She was wandering the streets of Charleston, when she was jumped by the Anello dei Serpenti. In her fear and anger, she released a dark magic outburst, as well as manifested dark magic throwing knives, and engulfed herself in a cyclone of throwing knives, which sucked up the half snake men, and severely mutilated them, but did not kill them. In that moment she realized that she would make a difference in the world. She would rebel against her father by fighting everything that was his fault in the world. She became a vigilante, adopting the moniker “Madame Magick”. To afford a place to live as well as buy food, she established a fortune teller business. She was accurate with her telling’s, which got her big tips. She is a member of the Grey Zone Heroes, alongside RyggaMortis, as well as Maskerradé, and her Familiar Podmeno, which serves as occasional allies of the CROSS & SWORD and its members. They are labeled as Grey Zone Heroes because A) they don’t formally or officially choose sides, and B) they act as anti-heroes, considering how they administer justice. In order to control her dark magic, she became a temporary nun with the Illuminati, which allowed her to control her dark magic most of the time, and channel Heavenly aura, allowing her to perform regular magic as well.
       Weakness(es):
       Demonic heritage- Due to having half-demon heritage, she is susceptible to being consumed by her dark nature when angered. She loses control of herself, and goes on a rampage, channeling Malevolent Energy and using it to create acts of chaos and evil.
       Powers/Abilities:
       Magic- Being the offspring of a witch, Madame Magick can wield magic and cast spells, as well as use magical objects, create potions and elixirs, and numerous other witchcraft abilities.
            Dark Magic- Being the daughter of the Witch Queen, Ava Cromwell can control and manipulate dark magic, making her a formidable opponent. She uses this half of the time, usually when in combat with an enemy.
            AngelScript Magic- After briefly becoming a nun for the Illuminati, Madame Magick can channel and manipulate AngelScript magic as well as black magic.
           Dark Premonition- Madame Magick has a form of premonition to an extent—she can sense other witches, demons in disguise, and large sources of dark magic or Malevolent Energy.
         Flight- Madame Magick can achieve flight using magic, which is symbolic that she rejects parts of her witch heritage (a witch would use a broom) as well as demon heritage (demons have wings as part of their physiology).
          Potion and elixir making- Madame Magick is fluent in potion making, being able to craft potions and elixirs for any situation.
       Limited Demonic Dominion- even though she rejects many parts of her demonic heritage, she has limited control over the hordes of demons, due to being the daughter of Satan and the Princess of Brim-Stöän.
       Séance- Madame Magick can converse with the dead, as well as with demons, which she uses to gain valuable information. She can also perform a variant of this to spy on her mother, her aunts, her father, the rest of the Unholy Trinity, and the demons Nergal and Mephistopheles.
       Future Prediction- Madame Magick is able to predict the future, sometimes through palm reading, other times through putting her consciousness between the planes of Time, Ethereal, and Mental, which also her eyes to glow foggy white, and clouds to swirl around her.
       Weapon manifestation- Madame Magick can manifest weapons using a mix of Malevolent Energy, AngelScript Magic, and Black Magic. Her preference is throwing knives, and occasionally katanas.
       Lightning- Using Black Magic, Madame Magick can manifest lightning that is a mix of black, purple, blue, and white. She uses this as a ranged weapon.
       Familiar- Madame Magick possesses a shapeshifting Familiar (creature demon that acts as a pet to witches), that was given to her by her mother to protect her and help her in her quests. Its name is Podmeno, and its natural form is a miniature black fog mass, it can also take the form of a massive iron golem, a massive dragon, a stereotypical cat, and can assimilate shapes and creatures that it sees or hears descriptions of. Podmeno’s name derives from the Bulgarian word podmeneno, which translates to changeling.
